I nailed, you nailed, they
nailed-
each pounding blow he cried,
"Father forgive them," he said aloud,
as a soldier pierced his bleeding side.
His Father's tear fell from the
heavens,
with it came darkened skies and mighty winds.
The angels sang, as they welcomed His Son,
for the Savior had died for our sins.
The temple crumbled beneath
God's hand,
while the believers knelt to pray.
Upon the cross now limp and breathless,
it was for our transgressions he paid.
Mary wept still, as she wrapped
the Son,
within his burial shroud.
Inside the tomb they placed his body,
a boulder was placed before the crowds.
One day silenced, two days
passed,
the guards they stood their ground.
The Angel came on the third,
and rolled away the stone she'd found.
Visitors arrived and discovered
him gone,
panic was their first deep thought.
Somebody had taken the body of Jesus,
they were laden and overwrought.
Soon they would know the
Master's plan,
He had risen, on the third day,
In the garden he walked in testimony,
that He Lives, still today.
With body whole and palms
scarred deep,
all wept for His precious love,
Only through Jesus is His Father's kingdom,
and an eternal life above.
