School bells toll a different
sound,
their chimes they ring in fear-
A Mother mourns with broken heart-
she weeps through falling tears-
Charred sights they fill the
evening news-
another attack on life-
An empty shoe, a shattered world-
laced with pain and strife.
Innocence trampled by heathen
hatred,
demons set loose to kill-
Children slain on the alter of
greed-
to forcefeed evil's will.
One child today or three thousand
tomorrow,
on one side of the earth or the
other-
Havoc travels through the minds of
all-
while they pray for the childless
Mother.
Her arms
they grieve and long to caress,
the babe she labored for-
But the night falls coldest just
before dawn-
where angry
wounds leave scars.
Shrill sounds they echo about
God's earth,
the universe broken down-
His children lay dying from man's
hate-
at the hem of His sacred gown.
Oh Father we pray on bended knee,
hold those children tight-
Pull them to your chest in love-
to keep them safe this night.
Suffer little children to
come unto me,
|
and forbid them not; |
for of such is the kingdom
of God. |
|
Verily I say unto you, |
Whosoever shall not receive
the kingdom of God |
as
a little child shall in no
wise enter therein. |
