"Lady of Dignity"
Yes today
Old Glory she still yet waves,
from one
sea to shining sea,
This is
her home of the brave,
and the
land of the forever free.
While
walking down the street any place in America,
You can
find Old Glory flying proudly high,
Her Stars
and Stripes against purple mountains majestic,
Keeping
her eye on the wide open sky.
She is
America's blanket of safety,
our
lighthouse for the lost,
She leads
our troops bravely into battle,
and she'll
guide them back home at any cost.
She is our
constant reminder for which we fight,
to ensure
Freedom of our great land,
She's a
Lady of Dignity, her colors will never run,
something
her enemies clearly understand.
We've seen
her planted on the moon, or trampled and burned,
both,
causing a flow of tears from our eyes,
We've
proudly saluted her, we've seen many carried
beneath her,
her fibers
are stained with the tears we cry.
She's been
torn and frayed and used to bandaged our sick,
left out
to weather the storms all alone,
No matter
her condition she always comes through,
and her
reflection of beauty is shown.
While in
battle with bombs bursting overhead,
not one
time did she ever have doubt,
That her
people would defeat the enemy at hand,
with her
as their watchful scout.
She's wept
many tears as she's seen,
the blood
of her defenders being spilled,
She's
lowered her head and prayed many prayers,
when some
were so senselessly killed.
It
wouldn't be wise to be caught showing disrespect,
to such a
fine lady so grand,
For there
are many around that would be happy to teach,
the true
meaning for which she stands.
