OH
CHILD
OF
MINE

Oh
Child
of
Mine
The
sun
yawned
and
spread
it's
mighty
limbs
across
the
thinning
pouty
horizon,
awakening
in
sultry
lavenders
and
exciting
oranges,
leaning
over
it
kissed
your
peaceful
dreams
away-
Your
tiny
dark
blue
eyes
opened
to
the
new
of
day,
as I
touched
with
one
finger
your
delicate
and
perfect
little
face-
With
grunts
and
groans
you
stretched
to
life-
Oh
child
of
mine;
Oh
child
you
are,
my
amazing
grace.
I
reached
in
and
scooped
you
up,
from
your
cradle
soft-
and
knew
I
held
within
my
arms,
an
awesome
miracle
of
God-
I
took
you
to
my
breast
to
feed,
on
the
nourishment
of a
Mother's
love-
stroked
and
coddled
your
gentleness,
'til
you
began
to
nod.
Humming
lullabies
sweet
and
low,
no
words
were
needed
here-
The
moment
was
for
silent
splendor,
in
peacefulness
upon
your
ear-
And
there
you
lay
against
my
chest,
as I
watched
you
safely
sleep-
Oh
child
of
mine
I
pray
this
morn-
sweet
dreams
are
yours
to
keep.
