PERFECT DREAMS
Ages have passed by me,
seasons have continued their change-
Days and nights have all become
a mixture within the same-
but my dream of you has
never failed to captivate
me.
You are the twinge of my
frozen breath, in the wee hours
of a Winter's dark-
allowing me to feel, to reach-
reach for the hope to
survive the pelting storms
of life.
I've read the captions you left
time and time again
that still burn upon my
weary heart-
Endless words on poetic pages-
worn now on the ancient scrolls
of my soul.
Spices bittered now lay in
feathered beds of honey
sweetened memories-
As I lift this rose to fill my
nostrils with your scent-
as I sip from this crystal goblet-
to taste your vintage love
once more.
Tonight I'll rest in the
arms of passion and desire-
knowing that with all that you are,
and all that you ever were to me-
I'll sleep, and dream the
perfect dream.
