~ SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS ~
Teach a class, send a card;
pick up trash from the yard.
Clean the bathrooms, sweep the floor,
wipe little handprints from the door.
Do the bulletin, bake a pie;
if one is absent, find out why.
Treat to lunch, pay the bill;
empty pews please help to fill.
Be an usher, walk the aisle;
always wear a great big smile.
Take kids on outings, have some fun;
let them know Christ is God’s son.
Tell a story from the Book;
teach a parable, toward Christ look.
Lend a hand to some dear elder;
maybe a lady, or a sweet old feller.
Cook a meal for someone nice;
cut their grass, it will suffice.
Play piano, sweet, sweet song;
help new people to belong.
Invite someone to have dinner;
serve the Lord and be a winner.
Keep the nursery, tend a baby;
someone needs a break, just maybe.
Sing a solo, bless a heart,
and of this church please be a part.
Empty pockets, give your all
and to sick ones, give a call.
Visit shut-ins, and new mothers;
invite friends, kin folks and others.
Help around this church, so dear;
tell of Christ both far and near.
Speak of Jesus to a stranger;
let them know of satan;s danger.
Serve the Lord, you'll not be sorry;
do your best, you'll have no worry.
Shout the gospel, ring the bells;
of Christ's salvation, be sure to tell.
Do your part to spread good cheer;
be a testimony throughout the year.
Follow Christ through all of life
and be the winner in every strife.
Do your best to serve the Lord;
obey the Bible, His Holy Word.
Help this church have a good name -
with Jesus Christ don't play a game.
Time is short, and life's too precious;
of satan's wiles we must be cautious.
Seek to follow Him who's LOVE;
keep your eyes on Christ above.
Care not, friend, what folks may say;
keep your eye on that coming day.
Christ will one day come again;
it's in His Word, it's His great plan.
Be not ashamed at His appearing,
that time now is quickly nearing.
Make certain that you're born again;
salvation's free to every man.
So work for Christ, for night is nigh -
not much time left to serve Christ on high.
Well-earned rest will be yours and mine;
we'll lay down our burdens for all time.
How precious will be time and space
when we see Christ, YES, face to face!
