Darkness,
darkness pulls me down,
With its nothingness all around.
Deeper and deeper, down I go,
Dark despair overwhelms my soul.
Help me dear Jesus, pull me out,
A spiritual battle is raging about.
Deeper still it's trying hard to pull,
Oh where is your joy within my soul?
Then a whisper comes from deep within,
"Just praise My name, and call me in."
Out of darkness pulls me ~ Jesus is
the light,
He has won the battle, darkness tried
to fight.
Your Psalms bring light into my soul,
As up a little, from the darkness I
go.
Yet again I face a mighty fierce
attack,
If I go back down, I'll never get
back.
Jesus please help, give me your light,
Your Psalms reveal for this Holy
fight.
Your Word planted deep in my soul,
Up, up, up and away ~ here I go.
For the light is growing brighter still,
And this I'm sure must be your will.
Then finally my soul can rise to
praise,
Your powerful, almighty, Holy name.
Although the darkness tries to pull,
Your light in me keeps growing full.
As to your word I cling so tight,
In this Holy fight for my very life.
Your light breaks powerful and strong,
And in my heart I hear your song.
The darkness nowhere to be found,
All my tears have left without a
sound.
Your light within me daily walks,
When at Your feet I sit and talk.
Of how my life by you was bought,
When you died for me on the cross.

For
God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made
His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of
the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
