THE PRESCRIPTION
In our modern, rushing world
Where confusion fills the air
It seems half the population
Is under a doctor's care.
With a pill for this, a shot for that
And a tonic once a day
We try to keep our physique fit
And our hair from turning gray.
Good doctors do the best they can
And drugs may cure our pain
But the greatest Doctor of all times
Made His prescription plain.
To lose tension and stiff necks
To bring strained bodies ease
Spend fifteen minutes twice a day
In bending both the knees.
A spoonful of meditation
When our patience grows too thin,
Will calm our nerves and help us
Feel cheerful once again.
A capsule of scripture reading
And a level cup of prayer
Taken first thing in the morning
Will soothe our every care.
To do away with tonic bottles
And reduce the doctor's bill,
We should heed the Great Physician
And always do His will.
