This ole house held many happenings
but then most all old houses do,
Births, deaths, gains, losses,
it's years of shares and blues.
This ole house
kept out the winter/summer storms
It also kept out a few malicious skeeters
begging taste of mine and me.
While our family labored in the cotton fields
a no.3 tub sat
in yard in broiling sun,
Awaiting our
bodies dusty returns and turns
at the sun
warmed waters bathing fun.
Ah, if these ole
houses could only talk
there`d a great national library of many spiels,
Still, these oft
forgotten houses of past
yielded ghosts that would not lay nil.
On star studded summer nights
when you hear a night `s soft whisper
tease of gentle
flowing breeze,
The magic
of the yesteryears and that ole House
will cause
memory`s recall of the
Yes Sirs, No
Mams, Thank You`s, and May I,
"Pleeease"...
Ma Ma ... "Pleeease"
