Train A Child

Train up a child in the way they

  should go by planting the word

  of God in their heart;

They may stray from the path

  you've taught them to take

But when they grow old they will

  not depart.

When they have been grounded

  deep in God's word it will remain

  with them throughout the years;

One day they will tire of what the

  world has to offer just heartache

  and loneliness, suffering and tears.

They'll remember with longing

  the days of their childhood

When they felt safe and warm

  while their mother would read,

 From her old worn out Bible those

  words which brought comfort

Words, which for years they've not

   had time to heed.

 In broken contriteness, they'll search ... mom saying, ' in God, you can trust!'
