WHO WILL REMEMBER

Who will remember him,
Who will care,
Who will speak his name,
Who will weep upon his death,
Acknowledge his duty,
His pride for Country;
Who will speak his name?

His eyes while blurred by age,
see plainly a truthful view,
His legs while weakened from battle,
stands firm for the Red, White and Blue

With hands that once gripped a rifle,
and offered solace to a Brother's fears-
Now trembles with pain and discomfort,
still wipes his memory's tears

His ears they hear the song,
behind the cries of a dying man-
Bugles and drums, on a raging wind-
taking him back, to that distant land

His face outlined by life's worries,
his lips still speak their names-
Each one sketched upon his soul-
and their sacrifices, proclaimed

He remembers them yesterday, today,
and tomorrow as well-
And he'll stand tall, gladly and proud,
in memory of all that fell

But who will remember him,
Who will be left to care,
Who will stand and speak his name,
Who will weep upon his death,

Who will acknowledge his call of duty,
and the pride he had for Country,
Who will stand for the Red, White and Blue,
Who will remember to speak his name?
