I was there, as were you,

it was that exact moment, once again.
Yes there were others too, but
just like then, I could only imagine
the looks on their faces, the pain in
their eyes,
For mine never left the outlines
of your spirit, the millions
of thoughts and memories
you had so preciously gifted
to me in my lifetime

I sat for hours as silently as you,
never letting go of your hand,
sobbing and praying that you would
somehow make it back to us-
Yet knowing in my heart, that you
were already in Daddy's arms-

Though you left in the heat of
a mid-Summer's night-
the wind and rain and tears
froze on my cheeks
much like a Winter's breath-

When the storm was through,
and the floods from Heaven descended,
I reached to wipe the tears from my eyes-
..but just like then..
You had caught them and used
them to irrigate the roses
of life.
